Oh Id be honoured to be chosen for such a thing! The whole reason I came here is because Im always seeking knowledge from all sources, always staying a student of the game. Im always out there finding my missing pieces and polishing those Ive already found..putting my picture together. Funk U is showing me that it has the pieces Im after! You never know what youll find when you crack open a new venue of learning or if you try something brand new today! Im looking outside my bag...as Ron Carter said :)

And the lecture youre talkign about was by John B Williams! I know exactly the one you mean! And yes..lessons like that were the most valuable things to me personally of all the things Ive found on Funk U! I have a whole huge notebook of things from all the professors..where I saw a lecture, I took notes to keep forever!

Funk U is shaping me to that next level that I am trying to reach! So thats one reason I enjoy contributing just as much as I enjoy receiving! I really want to make the biggest contribution I possibly can to this great uni! As many professors have said, you have to give knowledge to receive more! And besides..when youre giving knowledge, youre polishing the knowledge you have and maybe even thinking about the same old ideas in new ways!

In short..Im giving it my all. Giving back what I receive..and trying to ULTIMATELY go to vegas!

I agree with everything here...
I find the lessons that are not playing examples to be the most beneficial... might just be because I'm wiser now and that's the stuff that makes all of the practicing actually click.

...oh, and there's an off chance I'm moving back to New Zealand.
I say we change Go to Vegas to "Go to Antipodes"

Yes! That may be because the playing examples are best for technique (be it learning a new one, honing, reviewing..etc) or for learning a cool new tune, while you may be (as I am) wanting to think less of technique at this point and more about using your techniques to play whats in your heart instead. Its no longer about just bass, its about Music as a living breathing being! We need the almost cryptic phrases of the wisest minds we can find :) Those lessons tie everything together and make it work on a spiritual level!

Its like.. first, you learn bass. Next, you learn music. Then, relearn everything again and again while it all becomes a major life lesson.. what used to be just bass playing becomes more of seeking Zen-like answers to everything about yourself and about Life itself!

I got this little site right here:

http://voodoojew.bandcamp.com

My favorite album I made on there thus far is Swagadelia, which is the second release. Feedback would be most appreciated!!

I love what this University is all about, I wish there was a physical campus!!
