Due to the short length of videos, the extremely low number of users active and online on a daily basis, and the relatively high price for a non-interactive video website, I'll be cancelling my Funk University account. I wish you all the best.

chadshores - sorry to see you go!

You mention that the low number of active users online was a reason for wanting to cancel; I'd be curious to know what interactions would have made a difference.

Would you have liked to just sit back and watch more conversations happen?
Did the lack of online users make it seem harder to want to interact or ask a question?

I know I would really love your feedback...

Would it have helped if someone like me had 'office hours' where we could work through something together?

I really do think the shorter videos are a great way to ensure the specific point gets across. There is a danger that if the videos were even 10 minutes long that we'd mentally skip over some real truths.

Question: Would anyone prefer longer, but less frequent videos?
So, instead of a 2-minute video every day - a 12-minute on Tuesday

For newer students, does having the videos broken up as they seem daunting?

I do like the idea of having a playlist... though that will probably require some time and shifting to a new method for displaying the video. Again, any feedback helps...

My two cents is that, maybe some funk slingers want to be taught note by note, technique, tricks, tips, the whole thing. Other funk pushers can take a video and extract the information, clues, feel (especially when it's plaid slow and you have tab and access to playing and listening. I personally think the lessons make me work, think and remember. Leave the lessons the same and let's step this funkotunity up.

interesting to see where this has gone.... ... I really appreciate the thoroughness of Bassdblrs comment.... ... interesting things to think about.

The BCFU is certainly a unique online school.... in the sense that it is, but it sort of isn't at the same time... lol .... .... lots of great lessons that span a wide variety of topics and philosophies.... ^_^

and although i do enjoy posting and socializing here in the forums, it can feel like 'office hours' sometimes reading through a 3 page thread filled with the contents of a novelette... lol ... ... and then trying to reply to the multi-dozen points addressed... well, it is certainly easier to just be quite... lol ...but for myself, i just can't help but chirp along with my fellow funk crickets sometimes... lol... naturally. ... ... we're making something outta nothing...
